Black Australorp

Large brown eggs

We are calm, confident birds who have bonded to our humans. Our ancestors were Black Orpingtons from Australia (as the name implies). We have a heavy, beetle-green feathering and dark eyes.

All of our roos are black australorps…

Kenny Rogers, a black australorp rooster, at 7 weeks old.

We typically weigh between 8.5-10lbs. Our job is to protect the flock and fertilize the eggs.

Our black australorp hens at 8 weeks.

Australorp hens are fantastic mothers…

…and we lay as many as 300 large, light brown eggs in a year.
